Switch from iYogi to Rescuecom

EzMxVARXmu0
Are you frustrated with iYogi's inadequate computer support? RESCUECOM offers you fast and flawless computer repair and support, 24/7.

You are not alone in your frustrations with iYogi. Both customers and professional techs contacting iYogi have posted their negative experiences...

Everyone knows you can get cheap phone support from India, but take some good advice from Michael Muchmore1 , PC Magazine's lead analyst, when he warns "...inexpensive support can turn costly if you get poor advice." Muchmore posed as a typical customer to review iYogi's computer support services and he found that you get what you pay for, if that. Muchmore noted that even after giving iYogi two opportunities to address his common computer issues, iYogi left many issues untouched and unresolved. He recommended that unless you already possessed solid computing knowledge on your own, you would be better off with a higher end service.

When you contact RESCUECOM for computer support (online or at (614) 600-1862), we know how important it is to give you a fast and flawless solution. When you schedule a service call with RESCUECOM, you will be contacted directly by one of our highly trained computer technicians, whether it is onsite or for remote service over the Internet. With iYogi, before you are connected with an actual iYogi technician there are several steps to be completed first: You must get through an automated voice session, then get put on hold and then talk with a first-line representative. Only after clearing those hurdles are you finally connected to an iYogi computer support technician. And if you would rather get support through online text chat? You are out of luck because iYogi does not offer that service. iYogi also has very limited support as there is no Apple or Linux computer support. Additionally, iYogi is based in India, making any onsite computer repair and support impossible, and communicating on the phone with a call center in India poses its own set of problems. Whenever you need onsite computer repair and support, an expert RESCUECOM technician can be at your doorstep, in less than an hour, nationwide.

Muchmore's bottom-line with iYogi is that "to get what your PC needs, you have to know the right questions to ask." Perhaps this confirms why so many iYogi customers believe they could get the same level of computer support by typing their questions into Google 2.

Much like Muchmore, Rich Jaroslovsky, a journalist for BusinessWeek, also wanted to get an inside scoop on iYogi's computer support. Jaroslovsky and two of his colleagues all signed up for a year of computer support to test iYogi. Not surprisingly, iYogi computer support did not pass their tests. In his recent BusinessWeek article, Jaroslovsky recounted their experiences with iYogi, and claimed the experiences his colleagues had with iYogi to be even worse than his own:

"One was trying to get a new Windows laptop to connect to an Apple Inc. wireless router. He too was subjected to entreaties to extend the length of [iYogi] service and add unneeded virus-protection software for $100. Then the [iYogi] tech wanted a number he said was printed on the router (it wasn't) and attempted, unsuccessfully, to reach Apple. After an hour, my colleague gave up and called Apple himself, where a tech got things working.

My other colleague ran into the same technical difficulties I did when she tried to sign up -- and suffered the same hard sell for the [iYogi] extended plan, which she took. Once she finally got set up, the [iYogi] technician was unable to help her because she couldn't find her original Windows XP disks.

Her subsequent callback [to iYogi], as her computer slipped from barely functional into meltdown, triggered a five-hour marathon that included several disconnected telephone calls, multiple reboots, miscommunication, apologies from iYogi and, in the end, a Windows reinstallation that restored her computer to working order but cost her the data on her hard drive. ‘I probably could have erased everything and re-installed Windows without this [iYogi] service,' she concluded."3

Jaroslovsky summed up his article with some frank words of advice for iYogi: "...The service needs to improve. A good place to start would be to cool it on pushing the two- year extended plan so hard. First, show me you can provide value. Then we'll talk."4 Getting quality computer support should never be as difficult or frustrating as former iYogi customers describe it: Read for yourself more iYogi customer comments below.

Regarding his iYogi computer support technician, one customer5 wrote:

"He then proceeded to try to talk me into upgrading to a subscription to their service. I had to tell him a couple of times I only wanted to fix this one problem... He then said a technician would call me in 25 minutes. That did not happen. After an hour, I had to leave... I sent iYogi an e-mail to cancel request for service. Yet, they went ahead and charged my credit card."

Another customer6 objects to iYogi misrepresenting themselves as other computer support companies, he writes:

"The fact is when anyone searches for any technical support, for example like HP, Dell, or Microsoft etc. they get the number for iYogi. When a person calls the sales rep answers and he confirms that it's Microsoft, Dell or HP. A person who is calling for a problem is only told it's iYogi when he is later transferred to a technician...when I called they said it was Microsoft."

Below, several customers explain why iYogi's poor computer support left them extremely frustrated:

"...in the end, it was all wheels spinning. I had what I am sure is a simple problem with a user set-up file in Windows 7. They simply have been unable to fix it after 8 hours+ of effort over two days."7

"[iYogi] convinced me that I needed all three of my computers covered as they all had bad things on them i.e. a virus. There was no virus.... [iYogi] charged over 600.00 to my bank card. The next day or so I found out they did not do anything to help me. I called and wrote to them to cancel their ‘Service'."8

"iYogi has cost me more money than I care to think. I had to reinstall a new version of XP and Windows only last month as the system crashed because of iYogi technical support - $500.00! Yesterday I called about a routine problem regarding a virus in a backup file. I wanted them to help me delete the file. Things got so screwed up that [after four hours on the phone] I had to reinstall both XP and Windows again."9

The negative feedback accumulating from iYogi customers and tech analysts confirms that cheaper service often equates to poor service. Fortunately, you can choose to learn from the advice others have shared, and successfully avoid the drawbacks, misrepresentations and inferior computer support that iYogi offers.

Of course, this doesn't mean you have to go without computer support!! RESCUECOM's unparalleled computer support technicians are standing by for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year, providing both onsite and remote support over the Internet: We Guarantee you a fast and flawless solution.
