Computer, PC, Tablet Reliability

RESCUECOM’s 2014 Q3 Computer Reliability report will help you find the best computer or tablet you can get this holiday season. When you are looking for a tech device for yourself or as a gift, you want to be sure you get the most reliable machine possible. RESCUECOM’s reliability grades provide a convenient way to compare top manufacturers before buying this Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

RESCUECOM forms reliability grades by comparing the number of computer repair calls we receive to a company’s total market share of computers and tablets sold. For a complete view of all the reliability scores, please review the comprehensive 2014 Q3 Computer Reliability Report. You can find the overall rankings of each manufacturer along with its reliability grade below.

Apple has managed to pull ahead of Samsung for the top rank this quarter. However, the companies were extremely close in reliability and both have received grades of “A+”. These two manufacturers are consistently at the top of the rankings for computer and tablet reliability, and either is a solid choice for a dependable machine.

RESCUECOM CEO David Milman notes, “Lenovo, a stalwart in reliability, comes in at a solid third. This is interesting since they just purchased the server business from IBM.” IBM/Lenovo has proven itself quite dependable, placing third in reliability with a commendable grade of “A-”. Asus and Toshiba round out the top five, both maintaining relatively high grades.

Bringing up the final three positions are Acer, Dell, and HP. “Acer has moved up in quality by a large margin over previous reports,” comments Milman. Worth noting, Acer was in dead last in Q2 and was the only company to receive a grade of “F”. This grade moved all the way up to a “C” this quarter, and the company jumped ahead of both HP and Dell in ranking.

Be sure to consider how reliable a manufacturer is thoroughly before picking out a new computer or tablet! RESCUECOM’s reliability grades will surely be a useful tool for anyone looking to make an informed choice when it comes to technology this holiday season.
