Smile for the Memoto Camera – Every 30 Seconds

Smile for the Memoto Camera – Every 30 Seconds

Even if you do not have a photographic memory, you can soon buy one. Memoto is a small lifelogging digital camera. It takes a photo every 30 seconds for a continuous look at your life, even noting the GPS location.

Sometimes, important things happen without warning. You may not have a camera ready to capture the moment, so Memoto is always vigilant. Wear it as a necklace or clip in onto a lapel or collar.

The idea has already intrigued people. Of the $50,000 requested on Kickstarter, Memoto has raised $449,525 from 2,296 backers, with a little less than three weeks to go in the campaign. People ordering through Kickstarter should start receiving products in February 2013.

Six Swedes started Memoto in 2012, including Martin Källstrom, CEO, and Oskar Kalmaru, marketing director.

This mini camera measures 36x36x9 mm (about 1.42 in. x 1.42 in. x .35 in.). The batteries last about two days, logging about 4,000 photos. Recharge through a computer while the photos automatically upload to the Memoto server, where they are organized and stored. The photos are kept private, stored encrypted, unless you choose to share them on a social network. Delete any photos you do not want to preserve. See the photos anytime on the computer or through iPhone and Android apps that will be available when the first cameras ship.

Since there will be many photos generated, Memoto will store them for you at a flat monthly rate.

Keep access to your Memoto photos with professional computer service from a dependable company such as RESCUECOM.

Memoto’s retail price will be $279, including one year of storage. The camera comes in gray, white or orange. The weatherproof casing protects the camera from the elements.

With no buttons, the camera automatically takes photos. Turn off the camera by laying it down flat in the dark. You can do this while you sleep or in locations where photography is prohibited or inappropriate.

“Thanks to the fantastic response from our Kickstarter backers, we have introduced a few new features to the camera and announced a few others that we will add if we reach $700,000,” Kalmaru told RESCUECOM. Potential features include a WiFi charging dock, waterproof case and a wide-angle lens.

You do not want to lose your life in photos stored on your hard drive. Call computer experts if you need data recovery services.

”I believe current generations can live their lives more relaxed and enjoy the present better when wearing a Memoto camera,” Kalmaru noted, “knowing that their experiences will be preserved without having to remember to take out a camera and interrupt the moment as it passes. In the future, it would be amazing if moments captured with a Memoto camera could help people understand what life was like in the early 21st century. Or if your grandchildren could see pictures taken from the moment their grandparents met for the first time.”
