Planana CEO Anna Sergeeva Promotes Events with Attendee Perks

Driving attendance to events is not a simple task.  Even if an event should theoretically have drawing power on paper, getting people to come to it can still be an uphill battle without proper marketing. One of the most powerful ways to spread awareness for events is through word of mouth. This reality is likely due to the fact people are most likely to trust recommendations and ideas from people that they already know.  Cool person in technology Anna Sergeeva wants to help event promoters and marketers improve their attendance numbers by leveraging this reality with her company Planana.  Planana provides marketers with online tools that provide special perks to attendees that share information about an event through social media. As attendees share information about an event online, it increases the reach of an event’s marketing by word of mouth.  With more reach on social media, Sergeeva believes attendance numbers will rise for promoters who use her product.  Read more »

Local Measure Helps Companies Get Accurate Social Analytics with Location Tags

Social analytics aren’t always the most accurate way to find out what a company’s reputation is on the web.  Most of these analytics tools scan social networks and find relevant posts simply by the mention of a business’s name and potentially a few keywords.  However, this often means that these tools measure both positive and negative statements about a company in the same manner.  Someone complaining about a restaurant’s menu and someone complimenting it could look the same in many tools as long as the authors used one or two of the same words.  This situation demands a more accurate solution and the team at Local Measure believe that they have found one.  Read more »

Thomas Clayton is the CEO of Bubbly, Which He Describes as “Twitter with a Voice”

Social media has taken many different forms as it has expanded.  People use Twitter for text content, Vine and YouTube for video, and Instagram for photographs.  However, cool person in tech Thomas Clayton believes there is a medium that people have underutilized in social media up to now: voice.  Clayton is the CEO of Bubbly, a social network where users post short voice messages instead of videos, pictures, or statuses.  Clayton’s social network is completely mobile focused.  Bubbly doesn’t even have a basic web based counterpart to its smartphone applications.  In a way, it makes perfect sense.  Since Clayton was creating a social network based on voice communication, why not focus entirely on devices specifically built for voice communication—phones?  Clayton believes that people want to have a literal voice on social media and not just a figurative one. In past interviews, he has described his company’s service as “Twitter with a voice.”  Anyone who has trouble downloading Clayton’s app for their iPhone or Android device will need smartphone tech support.
