There are many websites and mobile apps that reward users for shopping, but Affinity.IS is much more. The premise of the app is that shopping has always been a game, but now it is one users can win. Its developers advertise it as a so-called “Influencing System,” claiming that it provides new technology in order to help businesses attract more customers by having celebrities reward those same customers for shopping with them. It does not stop there, though; it connects its users with sports teams, local retailers, and even social causes and charities who can all, in turn, aid each other. Read more »

Daniel Todd Founded Affinity to Help Stores Gain Customers through Gamification

Gamification is becoming a major trend in the worlds of technology and retail.  Gaining points and rewards for your purchases is now a standard practice for many large chain stores or shopping websites in every retail category.  However, most of the time the goal of earning points simply leads to future discounts on more merchandise from the same store.  While customers might appreciate those discounts, cool person in technology Daniel Todd believes that it would be even better if customers could get rewards from shopping that would not be easily attainable otherwise.  Todd’s company Affinity offers retail companies a system where their customers don’t just receive discounts or merchandise from the same store they are already shopping at, but instead receive exclusive and unique rewards donated by celebrities. Under Todd’s system, people can shop at retail locations affiliated with Affinity and earn points for each purchase at each of those stores.  People can then use those points to get special and unique prizes from their favorite celebrities on the Affinity platform.  Users can access Affinity’s shop through the company’s web platform on their computers or mobile devices.  Any users experiencing difficulty while trying to access Todd’s rewards platform should contact a network services provider for help with their connection. Ankus Seghal Founded BranDiD to Make Clothes Shopping More Efficient

One of the biggest downfalls of shopping for clothes online is the inability to try something on before a customer makes a purchase.  With the exception of casual clothing like t-shirts and sweatpants, trying on clothing to see how it fits is an essential step in choosing someone’s wardrobe.  While shopping online beats out going to a store in convenience, it will always remain an issue that people cannot try on the clothes they purchase first.  Cool person in technology Ankus Seghal founded BranDiD to erase this problem and introduce a service that allows people to try on the clothes they want to buy even when shopping on the web.  Read more »

StreetHub CEO Alex Loizou Wants to Show People Products Available Near Them

While online shopping has become the norm for many people, many still prefer to shop in physical stores.  This is especially true for home-based products like furniture and decoration.  No matter how many pictures someone looks at online, seeing the physical product in person is always preferable when it’s going to be on display in one’s home.

Cool person in technology Alex Loizou has created a product that uses the resources of the web to help people who prefer to shop in the physical world.  Loizou’s product StreetHub has a database of items on sale in retail shops and boutiques.  Using GPS technology to cross-reference with this database, Loizou’s website connects users with nearby shops that carry the specific products and items they want.  This way, a user can browse through products online but still go out and purchase them from a physical store once they find what they want from the convenience of their home.  If someone is on Loizou’s site and sees a set of table and chairs they like, or any other product, that person can still go to the store and see it in person before buying.  StreetHub could be a godsend for anyone who has ever bought items online only for them to be very different than a shopping website represented them.  Since StreetHub uses Wi-Fi and GPS to determine location, someone who has a computer with these features broken may need home computer repair to use Loizou’s service.
