Numerous startups seek to take advantage of the popularity of the online food ordering space. One such startup is ChowNow, an online ordering platform optimized for mobile and Facebook. It looks to provide restaurants with an easy way to offer online ordering to customers via either their social media, branded mobile apps, or their existing web site. Unlike the largest companies in the food ordering market, which offer one site where you can find local restaurants and order ChowNow allows restaurants to individually customize and brand their ordering apps. It utilizes social media as a destination for consumers to order food through the startup’s Facebook Ordering App, letting restaurants take orders directly through their Facebook page. It also lets restaurants create branded mobile apps, even offering restaurants a wireless tablet to receive orders and communicate back to the customer when it will be ready. Read more »

Internet business is not just for big retailers or even limited to small companies, and many sites have been allowing people to sell and buy items as personal business ventures for years. Sites like Etsy and Fab even allow people to sell their own handcrafted items, and this is where BRIKA fits in. It combines the elements of personal craftsmanship and good design that are unique to each of those sites and others like it to help its vendors reach a larger, more discerning audience. What BRIKA does is provide the background for artisan goods. Like Etsy, it sources its wares from handicrafts makers and independent creators, but it emphasizes the story so that you know who made what you buy and why they want to do so in the first place. You know where the materials came from and how someone made them, meaning you connect more personally to the goods you purchase and their creators. Read more »

While it is easy to see the work done by famous artists or to connect with large companies, smaller local artists and vendors simply do not have the resources and connections to maintain such a large public presence. It is a place online to meet artisans and creators to discover their creative works. ZIIBRA lets you explore artists and makers from around the world so that, in its developers’ words, you can get closer to the people behind the art, products, and experiences you love. It lets you browse a variety of categories to satisfy a broad range of interests including music, food, handcraft, and a lot more. Read more »

For many people, working from home and being able to sell items on sites like Amazon and eBay would be a dream job. However, it’s not as simple as it sounds. Marketing is a major concern, as is keeping track of how all items appear across different online sales channels. Cool person in technology Jason Nadaf has created a platform that helps online business owners to unify their sales approach easily. Nadaf’s program SureDone helps people sell their inventory across numerous online sales channels all at once without wasting time posting the same item on many different sites. Nadaf’s platform lets users create one universal listing to ensure the same information and photos are on every site where a product appears. Users can use SureDone to add new listings whenever they want or automatically edit current listings with new information. Rather than having to update many different channels, sellers can update all their listings from just one page. Nadaf’s platform puts listings on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, and Google Shopping. If product listings aren’t updating properly with SureDone, a small business owner may want to contact a computer support provider to learn the cause of the problem. Read more »
