There are some work environments with which employees truly fall in love. Those places where you might work where you find a sense of fulfillment and potential for advancement may be the best workplace of your life. Sometimes, though, they might not be absolutely right for all you need at a certain point in your life. When that happens, you may well move on. Finding women at or near top positions in the tech sector is at least as hard as it is to find them in prime management positions in the financial sector and other big businesses. However, possibly because of the rate at which technology changes, women in technology sector professional jobs are often derailed from their career path by using maternity leave. To acknowledge how hard working mothers work to balance both their family life and career, Working Mother magazine names one woman in business as their Working Mother Of The Year each year. In 2009, that honor went to a woman in the tech sector, Blair Christie of Cisco Systems! Blair Christie is so much more than just a working mother; she is the powerhouse who runs much of Cisco Systems’ global communications and negotiations efforts. Read more »

The world has come to a startling realization. A Cisco employee blogged that there are now more devices connected to the Internet than people on the planet to use them. Technology’s role in our lives continues to grow, necessitating knowledge on topics from computer support to Internet security. Humanity reached a strange milestone as our devices exceeded our population for the first time. Internet security and computer support are larger issues than ever in our machine driven world.
