Lagoa CEO Thiago Costa Provide 3D Visualization and Rendering in the Browser
While many creative professionals have benefitted immensely from cloud-based services, product designers and concept artists who render their work in 3D have been stuck using the same complicated and expensive software that would require extensive tech support for any non-professional to use. Products like Google Docs and Adobe’s Cloud Suite have allowed writers and designers, respectively, to do all their work without even needing a native program at times. While dedicated programs like Microsoft Word and Adobe Photoshop are more robust and provide more overall options, many writers and designers take advantage of cloud alternatives every year. Creative workers who use software that requires more computing power, such as product designers who create 3D rendering of prototypes, have had to deal without such convenient alternatives. However, that does not appear to be the case any longer. Cool person in technology Thiago Costa founded his company to provide photo-realistic 3D rendering in the cloud. Finally, product designers and 3D artists can experience the same conveniences enjoyed by other creative professionals.
Lagoa provides in-browser rendering and editing tools that allow users to create photo-realistic 3D models. The difference between Costa’s product and competing ones is that Lagoa does not require users to install any software on their computer. Some cloud-based services, such as cloud computer repair, can require users to download a special piece of software. Costa claims every aspect of his product is completely browser-based. Costa’s decision to provide his 3D rendering through the browser means that designers and artists can create and edit even less powerful computing devices such as netbooks and tablets. 3D artists’ limitations to only high-powered, expensive machines that can handle rendering software are no longer an issue with Lagoa.
Costa founded Lagoa after spending years working as a technical director at Ubisoft in Montreal. Ubisoft is a major games developer and rendering 3D concepts is a major aspect of game design. Costa’s work there is likely the origin of his idea for Lagoa. Costa has also worked as a 3D artist himself in the past. Many entrepreneurs build on ideas that they believe would benefit their own work. Costa’s situation seems to be one of these instances. Hopefully, other 3D artists will find Lagoa as beneficial as Costa does.
