Samid’s concept for finding potential grey charges in a user’s credit card bills comes from analyzing the crowdsourced data his app collects.  Billguard collects data on what charges users often report as unwanted.  If the app finds a frequently reported charge on your bills, it informs you and asks you to confirm its validity.  Samid wants to make people aware of avoidable charges by bringing them to your attention with no extra effort on your part.

Samid founded Billguard in 2011, but it’s not exactly his first walk around the block in technology.  Samid was also a founder and chief marketing officer at Pando Networks.  His other previous positions in the tech industry include director of marketing for Register.com and VP of marketing at Zend technologies.  Samid has also shown an interest in helping other tech entrepreneurs by founding TechAviv, a nonprofit organization that supports Israeli tech startups.
