Amos Elliston is, first and foremost, a software engineer.  However, his career has grown significantly over the years and turned him into a highly successful leader as well.  Currently, Elliston is the Chief Technology Officer of PocketChange, a company that rewards users of specific mobile apps with loyalty points.  Elliston’s current position offers him a serious challenge, as he has to work to make the PocketChange loyalty rewards system integrate with hundreds of different mobile applications.  He also has to coordinate teams that work with two different mobile operating systems: Android and iOS.  Fortunately, Elliston has a significant amount of experience handling large engineering and software projects.  This cool person in technology has held upper management positions at two other major software startups besides PocketChange over the last seven years.  This is not a man who would ever need onsite computer support to solve his computer problems like most people.  The evidence heavily suggests that Elliston is a man who knows what it takes to succeed in the tech industry.

Elliston’s current company, PocketChange, helps mobile apps engage their users and create loyalty by offering bonus incentives for customers to use certain apps.  When a customer uses a PocketChange enabled app, they receive loyalty points.  These customers can then use the points to purchase rewards from the PocketChange store.  Rewards include everything from music downloads to expensive tech products.  An important aspect of Elliston’s company is that the currency remains universal across all PocketChange enabled apps.  This ensures that users can combine the loyalty currency they receive from different apps for the same purchase on the PocketChange store.  Through this universality, Elliston and his team hope that they can turn PocketChange into the standard for loyalty currency across all mobile platforms.  Users who have trouble using their points in the PocketChange store will need mobile tech support to help them.

Before working as CTO of PocketChange, Elliston was the CEO of genealogy startup Geni.com.  Earlier than that, Elliston served as the vice president of engineering at business social networking site Yammer.  Elliston ran the engineering team at Yammer before its highly successful exit when Microsoft acquired the company.  Elliston has proven to be very successful in leadership roles so far, and it’s likely that pattern will continue at PocketChange.
