Alex Austin Made Kindred to Turn Your Mobile Pictures into Photobooks
Cool person in technology Alex Austin used to send emails to his parents and attach his recent pictures to them every month so his family could keep up with his activities. However, this proved awkward and cumbersome, especially since his parents had to take the effort and time to print out their favorite photos locally. Austin felt that there had to be a better way to handle this process. As a solution, he created Kindred, a mobile application that collects all your digital photos and lets you quickly and simply design print photobooks to send to whomever you want directly from your phone. His app lets you automatically send photos to those family members who might need hours of computer support to print one out normally.
Kindred could potentially be a better solution for sending print photos to family and friends for two reasons. First, it automatically collects all of your new photos from Facebook, Instagram and your phone every month. You can then select what you want to send to others from a pre-collected pool of all your pictures rather than having to seek out individual files across different websites and devices. Second, Kindred uses a subscription model, which prompts you to send out new photobooks every month. This could be helpful for anyone that has trouble remembering to send pictures to their family and friends to help those close to them keep up with their lives. Users who subscribe to the service get a notification every month when it’s time to send a new set of photobooks, theoretically making it easy to keep others in the loop when it comes to your life. Those who are interested but need help operating mobile apps need to find a reliable mobile tech support service.
Austin is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He has years of experience developing mobile applications, having previously founded a company that developed the apps CatchUp, Etch, and Open Road. He recently went back to Stanford to obtain his MBA while he continues to develop the Kindred app and run the company.
