Visiontek Is In Good Hands With Michael Innes!
It is rare for a Chief Operating Officer of a company, especially a company in the tech sector, to have a visible presence in the media. More often than not, when a company issues a statement, they use their press department, the Director of Marketing or even the CEO. But for VisionTek, that is not always the case. In fact, in 2010 when rumors were swirling that the company was facing bankruptcy, it was VisionTek’s COO Michael Innes who leapt into the public spotlight to quell those fears.
Michael Innes, in his role as Chief Operations Officer at VisionTek, was in a unique place to quell the rumors of VisionTek’s impending bankruptcy. As the executive most directly monitoring and affecting day-to-day operations at VisionTek’s manufacturing plants, Innes was a credible source to end allegations that suppliers and distributors were creating issues for the computer hardware manufacturer. In addition to assuaging consumers, the authoritative stance Michael Innes took reassured stockholders and VisionTek emerged from the public relations crisis stronger than before!
The Michael Innes would be both an effective and vocal Chief Operations Officer is unsurprising given how long he has been with VisionTek. Innes’s career within the tech sector has been comparatively short, but exceptionally focused. For most of his adult life, Michael Innes has served VisionTek and he was intimately aware of how the company operated well before he was promoted to Chief Operations Officer.
Michael Innes attended the University of Alabama for two years before he transferred to Colorado State University. At CSU, Innes studied business and management and he discovered he had an aptitude for both sales and organization. Upon graduation, Michael Innes took jobs that utilized his salesmanship skills as well as afforded him opportunities to learn more about how big businesses were run. For six years, Innes worked with the sales department of AMD, which gave him a practical understanding of the semiconductor industry.
When Michael Innes joined VisionTek in 1999, it was in the role of Vice President of Sales. Only six years after leaving Colorado State University, Innes was an executive! With his strong sales ability and understanding of how the parts of a business work together, Innes was promoted in 2002 to Chief Operating Officer. In addition to putting out fires, like pesky rumors about the company, Michael Innes has been responsible for maximizing the profits at VisionTek, while doing what he can to lower expenses the company incurs. VisionTek’s continued growth is proof positive that Michael Innes knows what he is doing!
As a vibrant, articulate, and efficient Chief Operating Officer, Michael Innes is working hard to keep VisionTek successful.
