The real power of the IMDb is in the site’s search engine.  The search engine allows you to put in the name of a movie, actor (or behind-the-scenes staff like director, producer or editor), television episode name, or any of several other search terms.  When you search, you are brought to a listing that does not simply tell you the name you were looking for, but projects most associated with the person you searched.  The search results page also has a small picture, which can be beneficial when you are either looking through long lists of people who share the same name or movies that have the same title.  With everything from the current blockbuster to a page with the complete filmography of the most obscure actors, the Internet Movie Database is comprehensive and easy-to-use.

The Internet Movie Database is to films what Open Secrets is to U.S. politics; it is, quite simply, the most comprehensive site of its type and a great asset for anyone who loves television or movies!
