Royal has managed the finances of Maxwell Technologies as well as he has is little surprise considering his financially-focused background.  Royal has his eyes set on the financial sector when he went off to college at Harding University.  In 1986, Royal earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Harding University and armed with that degree, he joined the workforce as a senior manager at the prestigious firm of Ernst & Young.  For ten years, he was dedicated to the accounting industry and his service at Ernst & Young earned him the respect and esteem of his peers.

In 1996, Kevin S. Royal was introduced to the tech sector.  Still focusing on finances, Royal joined Novellus Systems as the company’s Director of Finance.  Novellus turned out to be an exceptional opportunity for Kevin S. Royal, as he proved he had a real aptitude for the tech sector and the accounting challenges unique to that industry.  Over the course of his eight and a half years at Novellus, Kevin S. Royal progressed from Director of Finance to Vice President and Corporate Controller to Chief Financial Officer!

From Novellus, Kevin S. Royal moved on to Blue Coat Systems.  The company may have been smaller, but Royal’s position was expanded; at Blue Coat Systems, Kevin S. Royal served as both Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President.  After four years with Blue Coat Systems, Maxwell Technologies successfully wooed Royal.  At Maxwell Technologies, Kevin S. Royal has assisted the company through rounds of financing and managing the finances of the company while scientists work on innovations they hope will shake up the energy industry.

With his head for numbers and impressive amount of experience with managing big companies in the tech sector, Maxwell Technologies is in good hands with Kevin S. Royal as the company’s Chief Financial Officer.
