Joanne Bradford Will Make Demand Media Successful!
It can be very tough to break into the social network and online media markets. Given how YouTube has virtually dominated much of the online media market and how the major Internet social networks continue to develop tools to make it easier to stream videos, share music, and distribute photos, it is a tough time to be a new online service in that niche. Even so, that has not stopped Demand Media and it is not slowing down Joanne Bradford.
Joanne Bradford is Demand Media’s Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer. Bradford joined Demand Media after working for Yahoo!, which is one of Demand Media’s biggest business rivals. It is easy to see why both Yahoo! and Demand Media would want Joanne Bradford; Bradford graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism (Advertising). Since college, she has trail-blazed with some of the most influential companies in the tech sector and the media world. She started her ascent up the corporate ladder at publishing giant McGraw-Hill where she served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BusinessWeek Magazine!
While working for BusinessWeek, executives at Microsoft noticed Joanne Bradford – she established the online presence for the magazine – and Bradford left McGraw-Hill. Eager to develop innovative new tools for advertising on digital platforms, Bradford was one of the most successful Vice Presidents Microsoft had for their Internet Business Unit. In-game advertising is one of the advances credited to Bradford from her time at Microsoft! From Microsoft, Bradford went to Yahoo! where she was a Senior Vice President.
Now at Demand Media, Joanne Bradford is once again pushing the envelope for what is expected for a new Internet media platform. Bradford is primarily tasked with building brand awareness and helping Demand Media compete against the established and entrenched online media networks. Her goals are ambitious; in her first months at Demand Media, Bradford revamped the company’s sales department. Joanne Bradford has developed new relationships for Demand Media that bring in sponsorship dollars. She has been increasing that revenue stream since she started!
More than just a rising star in the business world, Joanne Bradford was recently elected to the non-profit Ad Council Board. Now, Bradford is using her talents to tailor public service advertisements for socially-beneficial causes. Whether for Demand Media or for the Ad Council, Joanne Bradford is one of the most influential executives in multimedia advertising!
