Building The Staff At Turn, Farri Ouraie Is Very Cool!
Finding staff for a tech sector start-up can be a challenge beyond what one might otherwise expect. After all, human resources specialists have to woo highly-skilled workers from whatever company at which they are currently employed to a project that, odds are, is a virtual unknown to the worker. Equally important, the human resources specialist for a start-up company is assembling a team that will define the initial corporate culture of the new business. That is a lot of pressure and responsibility and it takes an extraordinary recruiter to pull off effectively staffing a start-up. Farri Ouraie is that type of human resources specialist!
Farri Ouraie is the Senior Technical Recruiting Partner for Turn, a pre-IPO digital media company. Turn is specializing in creating effective advertising campaigns for mobile devices, one of the growing markets for advertising. Farri Ouraie was hired by Turn back in April in order to radically and effectively grow the engineering and technical support teams at Turn. She has steadily been building the company’s staff so that Turn can keep up with the demand for its products and services.
That Farri Ouraie would make an ideal recruiter for start-ups is little surprise considering that she recently had her own start-up! As the Founder and Senior Technical Recruiter for her own company, SearchTech Consulting, Ouraie knows all the ins and outs of recruiting for the tech sector. Even as she has taken on other positions, like staffing up Turn, Farri Ouraie has continued to run SearchTech Consultant where she works with CEOs and other executives of emerging technology companies in order to aid them with staffing issues.
Farri Ouraie’s interest in the tech sector has been a lifelong one. She attended Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College where she followed a general science track. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in General Science with a minor in Computer Science and Mathematics. Eager to be more prepared for the demands of the tech sector, she pursued Master’s work at the same school. Interestingly, she used her minor as her guide and she graduated with a M.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics.
In October 1987, Farri Ouraie went to work for Heuristics Search, one of the premiere staffing firms in Silicon Valley. As the Director of Recruiting Services and Lead Technical Recruiter, Ouraie spent more than fourteen years staffing up major and minor tech companies. During the boom years of the Internet, Farri Ouraie was on the front lines finding workers for all of the major tech companies! Her successes at Heuristics led Farri Ouraie to found SearchTech Consulting.
With all her training and experience staffing the tech sector, Farri Ouraie is an asset to every company that utilizes her services.
