Creating Cotton Candy For The World, Borgar Ljosland Runs FXI Technologies!

In a world with rapidly changing technology, it is rare when one encounters a truly good idea anymore.  Indeed, many emerging technologies simply seek to improve upon already existing devices or technology.  So, when FXI Technologies virtually reinvented the computer with the Cotton Candy 3” computer device, it was newsworthy.  The brain behind Cotton Candy and FXI Technologies is Borgar Ljosland.

Borgar Ljosland is an inventor and a businessman.  With Cotton Candy, Ljosland’s idea was to create a device that could access your personal accounts in The Cloud and project them onto any screen.  This would allow you to have instantaneous access and consistent quality of media files regardless of where in the world you were at any time.  Cotton Candy continues to sell-out via preorders through the FXI Technologies website, so the idea clearly appeals to a broad worldwide customer base of technology savvy individuals who are tired of lugging around multiple or bulky computer devices.

The journey to CEO was an unlikely one for Borgar Ljosland, who started his professional life as a sheep farmer.  Interestingly, as a sheep farmer, Ljosland utilized high-tech gadgets including several for dog training.  Using technology to make shepherding a less physical activity for sheep farmers inspired Ljosland to study technology over farming.

In 2001, Ljosland earned his Master’s of Computer Science from Norway’s NTNU.  Rather than return to a company where he might not be allowed the freedom to explore his expertise in computer science, Borgar Ljosland formed Falanx Microsystems after graduating.  As co-founder and CEO of Falanx Microsystems, Ljosland had the opportunity to act as a technological innovator as well as learn the essentials of doing business in the technology sector.  At Falanx Microsystems, Borgar Ljosland directed the production of GPU IP cores for low-power applications.  The technology was audacious and it inspired the larger company, ARM, to buy Falanx in 2006.

Borgar Ljosland served as the Director of Business Development for ARM after his company was acquired by ARM.  After three years at ARM, he left to become the Chairman of Bassmaskin.  Finding himself less interested in marketing and advertising – which were Bassmaskin’s primary businesses – Ljosland once again struck out into the technology sector.  Seeing the potential of Cloud computing, he eagerly took over as CEO of FXI Technologies.

Since Borgar Ljosland took over as CEO of FXI Technologies, FXI Technologies has had its first major product release.  With the success of Cotton Candy, Borgar Ljosland once again proves that with the right training, a person with a great idea can accomplish great things!
