A few years ago, it probably seemed like a silly idea to license from popular franchises in order to produce flash drives.  The Boston-based Mimoco, however, did just that and they had a pretty impressive success with their Star Wars line of character USB flash drives.  Science fiction geeks can now be joined by comic book geeks as Mimoco’s popular MIMOBOT line includes an extensive selection of characters from DC Comics!

The DC Comics MIMOBOTs (the Mimoco term for their designer character flash drives) line is now twelve flash drives strong and for the San Diego ComicCon this year, they will produce four exclusives drives!  The MIMOBOTs are stylized representations of each character, much like what is popular in Japan now.  As a result, the DC Comics MIMOBOTs feature enlarged heads and rounded shells.  Most of the DC Comics MIMOBOTs are available in a range of memory capacities from 2 GB to 64 GB.

Each DC Comics MIMOBOT features a different character from the DC Comics pantheon of heroes and villains.  With enthusiasm building for The Dark Knight Rises, Mimoco has added several new Batman-themed MIMOBOTs to the line, including Batman and Bane colored like the movie characters.  They join the Batman-themed MIMOBOTs of Batman, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, The Joker and Robin based upon the comic books.  Last year, to capitalize on the popularity of Green Lantern, Mimoco released DC Comics MIMOBOTs based on the most popular characters from that comic book series.

Mimoco designed the DC Comics MIMOBOTs to stand as desk ornaments when they are not in use.  This décor is as functional as it is stylish, though!  Each elongated MIMOBOT head is the cap for the flash drive.  By simply pulling on the character’s head or mask, you expose the male USB lead of the MIMOBOT!  Like any other USB flash drive, the DC Comics MIMOBOT flash drive slides easily into any female USB port.  Because of the rounded nature of the casing of the MIMOBOTs, the DC Comics MIMOBOT flash drives may not fit into a crowded USB hub.  These flash drives do not like to share space, so they must be plugged into a USB port where there are no other USB devices that might inhibit the physical connection of the MIMOBOT.

As an additional bonus, the DC Comics line of MIMOBOTs includes pre-loaded media for fans!  Each DC Comics MIMOBOT includes character-specific wallpaper, icons, and avatars on the flash drive.  So, if your favorite character from the DC Comics universe is Sinestro, for example, you can illustrate it both with the Sinestro MIMOBOT and by uploading the digital bonus features from the flash drive to your desktop and social media.
