People often don’t want to speak about what may happen once they’ve passed away because it makes them and those that care about them uncomfortable.  Many people even go so far avoiding the issue that they don’t set up appropriate plans and preparations for when they die, which usually ends up leading to trouble for their loved ones.  Adam Seifer is a cool person in technology who wants to make sure people don’t ignore the important issues that arise when it is their time to go.  Seifer founded his company Everplans to give people a technological tool that will help them prepare and make sure their loved ones don’t have to experience unnecessary stress.  With Seifer’s service, people can organize what tasks they need to accomplish before their death in an online platform that they can conveniently access whenever they want.  Anyone who has trouble creating an Everplan online or logging into one they’ve already made will need cloud computer support for assistance. 

Seifer’s platform helps users formulate a detailed checklist of everything they should do to prepare in case the worst should happen.  Users can input any steps they’ve already completed and Everplans creates a comprehensive list of everything else someone might need to consider.  Once users complete steps, they can upload completed forms and documents to a secure online vault.  Seifer then lets his customers share that vault with specific “deputies” who know what to do to carry out any specific plans once someone passes.  Deputies can also access important materials directly through someone’s Everplan so there are no hassles or confusion.  Any users who have trouble sharing the contents of their Everplan with deputies should find a tech support expert to help them figure out the problem.

Seifer has spent a nearly two decade long career working in leadership positions at technology startups.  He worked as the COO of social network sixdegrees between 1996 and 2000.  After that, he held positions as both chief product officer and CEO of micropublishing platform Fotolog between 2002 and 2008.  In 2010, this cool person once again entered the startup world by founding Everplans with Abby Schneiderman.  Seifer released his first working version of the concept in 2012 and has continued to move the company forward ever since.
