Pedro Valdeolmillos Wants to Help Ocean Lovers Get More Out of the Sea with Bloosee

Geotagging has become a useful tool for many consumer technology startups and services. Travel and hospitality websites and applications see the ability to attach information to specific locations digitally as a way to add new features and increase convenience for their customers.  However, cool person in technology Pedro Valdeolmillos doesn’t think geotagging’s benefits should be limited to locations on land.  Valdeolmillos founded tech company Bloosee to help sea-lovers take advantage of this technology as well.

Bloosee is an app that uses geotagging so that fishermen, sailors, scuba divers, aquatic sports enthusiasts and anyone else who loves the ocean can tag specific sites with important information.  Users can leave information about particularly rough waters so others avoid an area, or they can point out that they’ve spotted rare marine life so other Bloosee users can come see as well.  Valdeolmillos wants to use technology to help those who share his passion for the sea can get more out of their oceanic activities. If you don’t understand geotagging and GPS technology and want to learn more, mobile computer support may be able to help you.

Bloosee includes many other features for sea-goers besides geotagging.  It also has resources including navigation charts, updated information about winds and even vessel tracking for larger boats.  All of these features are available on both Valdeolmillos’ website and mobile app.  Users can integrate their Bloosee accounts with Facebook.  This lets them share their tags and other information beyond the Bloosee community.  Judging by the breadth of information and features Bloosee offers, it seems that Valdeolmillos wants Bloosee to be the primary space for seafarers on the web.  If you need help using Bloosee on your computer or on an iOS device, you should find a tech support provider.

Before starting Bloosee in April 2010, Valdeolmillos was a freelance professional translator for nearly a decade.  He also ran a graphic design firm in Barcelona named Meltemi.  Since founding Bloosee, Valdeolmillos lives in San Francisco, taking advantage of the Bay Area startup scene’s resources to continue building Bloosee and adding more features to the service.
