With many of us tightening our belts because of the recession, every purchase needs to be made with our budgets in mind. So, with cost being such a large consideration for most of us, how do you find the balance between saving money in the short term and the long term ramifications of computer repair and computer support problems?

Ignore the name and pay for the product.

• Go where the support is – Whenever you’re dealing with a budget style product, you know you’re running the risk of needing more computer support. So, when making your purchasing decision, factor that need in. Go with a product whose manufacturer backs up their product with the most available computer support.

• Get what you need, not want – A budget product is designed for exactly that – a budget. When purchasing budget technology, ensure that you get the most ‘bang for your buck’ by purchasing what you need, not what you want. Most of us want frills, bells, and whistles. But consider this – the more of those a product has, the more things there are to break down and force you into expensive computer repair problems.
