Changing The Face Of Online Analytics, Chris Moody Runs Gnip!
The Internet truly has made the world smaller in many ways. With communications over the Internet happening virtually instantaneously, the people of the world are more interconnected than ever. This interconnection between geographically and culturally different people is especially evident on Internet social networks. Just because the connectivity between people exists in the Internet does not necessarily mean that it is well-understood. To understand the real impact of online activity, one needs impressive analytical tools like those offered by Gnip. Gnip needs Chris Moody.
Chris Moody joined Gnip in the middle of 2011. Hired by CEO Jud Valeski, Moody assumed the dual roles of President of Gnip and Chief Operating Officer. In the two executive positions, Moody essentially runs day-to-day operations of Gnip. Chris Moody is directly responsible for the company’s development and while Valeski and the Board of Directors determine the overall direction of Gnip, it is Moody who is responsible for managing the company to get it there!
While Chris Moody has not been with Gnip very long, his influence is already helping the company grow at an exceptional rate. Gnip recently made a strategic partnership with Automattic, an online company that is able to provide data for WordPress, Jetpack and other popular platforms to which Gnip previously lacked access. This partnership helps Gnip to expand its influence in the analytics field and offer quite a bit more information and tools to their customers. Moody’s ability to make the powerful alliance and effectively utilize the information that partnership provides, is a testament to his leadership and vision.
Moody’s leadership abilities and strategic mind are not surprising, though. While his positions are business-oriented, his education is firmly technical; Chris Moody has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, which he earned at Auburn University. Like executives like Patti S. Hart, Chris Moody opted to pursue practical experience in the technical sector as opposed to further education. To that end, he went to work as a private consultant and he participated in important ventures with Oracle, IBM and many other Fortune 500 companies. His success as a consultant brought him to the attention of the Board of Aquent. Aquent hired Moody as Chief Operating Officer and it did not take long before Chris Moody developed the entire Aquent On Demand division of the company. Moody ran Aquent On Demand as President and Founder until he was approached to serve Gnip.
Chris Moody’s rise to the top of Gnip has been the result of innate skill, impressive professional experience and a real understanding of the tech sector. Armed with Chris Moody, you should expect to hear a lot more about Gnip in the coming months!
