RESCUECOM Speaks to Chris Campbell About Review Trackers
Recently, RESCUECOM posted an article on this blog about new startup Review Trackers, which helps small businesses keep track of their online reviews and analyze them to adjust their strategies. Since we posted our first article, RESCUECOM has had the chance to try out the Review Trackers software for ourselves and speak to the company’s founder, Chris Campbell, to gain further insight into the company’s product and history.
In our interview, Campbell told RESCUECOM that he created Review Trackers to “solve his own problem”, as one of his previous jobs involved keeping track of a company’s online reputation. He found managing online reviews over numerous websites to be tedious and decided to make a tool that would make life easier for people with his job. This path to entrepreneurship is common in the tech industry. Campbell’s company looks to be the next in a long line of successes based of entrepreneurs making a product that fulfills their own needs.
When a business creates an account on Review Trackers, they don’t gain access to their Review Trackers dashboard immediately, but first submit their business information to the Review Trackers support team. The Review Trackers team then sets up the customer’s dashboard for them and emails them a link to access it. The turnaround time on RESCUECOM’s trial version was less than 24 hours, which Campbell claims is typical for most Review Trackers customers. While there is definitely convenience for the customer in having the Review Trackers team set up the dashboard and deliver it to them via email, the process does present an issue regarding scale. RESCUECOM asked Campbell if there could be a problem in the future regarding turnaround time if they did not have enough staff to handle new accounts as customers created them. “It’s a good problem to have,” he quipped in reply, before explaining that they have not had trouble so far and have prepared themselves going forward to deal with such an issue. He mentioned that he believes it easier for the staff to set up new accounts rather than have customers input their own information and dig around the Internet for URLs of specific review sites. He also claimed the process reassures customers early on that the team is there for them if they need help in the future. Of course, not every problem a customer experiences while using Review Trackers relates to the platform itself. For greater computing concerns, users should always contact a computer support provider.
Review Trackers provides data in a simple and clean interface. Users can immediately see their companies’ most recent online reviews when they log in to the system. The product also provides users with ways to customize their reports to track how positive or negative online reviews were over a certain amount of time. The dashboard populates itself with new reviews automatically as well and can even send notifications to a user when it discovers new online reviews on certain sites. Users can turn this notifications feature on and off from within the dashboard. People whose phones have trouble receiving the notifications that Review Trackers sends out may want to find a mobile PC support company to inspect their devices.
According to Campbell, the “Request Reviews” feature is “one of the most popular features among [Review Trackers] customers”. With this tool available on the customer’s dashboard, companies can send out marketing emails asking their best customers to leave positive online reviews. The emails Review Trackers sends are completely customizable, so users can add incentives in these emails to convince their best customers to leave reviews for them.
Review Trackers certainly fills a need for many small businesses, as online reviews are becoming extremely important to a company’s reputation with the public. By providing ways to manage reviews and not lose track about what people are saying about a user’s business, Campbell and his company have found a way to help people handle the problem of online reviews more efficiently.
