Pi’ikea Street Helps Kids Learn and Grow

photo piikea-street-helps-kids-learn-and-grow.pngAs technology improves, so too does everything we use it for, whether for work, communication, play, or any other purpose.  This is also true of the way children play and learn, and a startup called Pi’ikea Street looks to use the tech devices you utilize every day to help your child learn and grow.  It is a company with apps dedicated specifically to young children, even babies, that they can safely access without getting into anything else that you have stored on your tablet or smartphone or opening any other programs on it.  These apps have uses for both education and simple fun, and there are a variety of them to choose from.  Pi’ikea Street also has plenty to offer parents including a blog about their apps and future release plans, coloring pages, and crafts that parents can access on a mobile device or download and print to use with their children.

Pi’ikea Street has plenty on its website, but all the apps feature mobile tech support specific to iOS devices.  Along with children’s apps, the website includes tips for making your tablet or smartphone baby-friendly, and its Control Center feature is specifically designed for parents of small children.  This useful function can help people whose children simply love swiping at any time, not simply if they are using a Pi’ikea Street app.  That means that it keeps your mobile device and its files safe if a child is able to use it when a parent is not looking or on any app of any kind that you have installed on it.  There are also features like “Restrictions,” which disables actions like installing or deleting apps, making in-app purchases, internet access, and just about anything else you don’t want your baby to do unintentionally.

Of course, the main aspect of Pi’ikea Street’s service is its apps for children, and in this way it can become a sort of home network service for educating and entertaining them at home.  One of these is Photo Bobo, which lets babies swipe through their favorite photos on your device without getting stuck in editing mode or accidentally sharing something private.  For entertainments, a line of Mask Jumble apps lets children see their own face in animal form using facial recognition, even allowing them to change any single part of the mask.  For learning, there are apps for counting, memory, alphabet, and music.  Counting bees teaches children to count to twenty by guiding bees to flowers, while memory train features a friendly elephant to entertain kids while growing concentration and focus.  There is also an interactive alphabet app and a xylophone app for a mix of education and fun.  When it comes to using mobile technology to help children grow, Pi’ikea Street is an excellent option.
