Noah Ready-Campbell Founded Twice to Create an Online Thrift Store
Many people have stories about finding a piece of clothing ridiculously cheap at a thrift shop or secondhand store. Who doesn’t enjoy getting quality items for heavy discounts? People also enjoy secondhand shops for the feeling of hunting for an item. By searching more diligently through a large amount of secondhand material, people feel more accomplished when they find an item they actually like. Still, not everyone has a thrift shop or secondhand clothing store nearby.
Cool person in technology Noah Ready-Campbell wants to take the thrift shop experience and transport it to an online space. Ready-Campbell’s startup Twice is a web-only secondhand clothes shop that buys used clothing and resells it. This cool person has made it possible for anyone to experience the thrill of hunting for and finding the perfect secondhand item for a much lower price than retail. Ready-Campbell is aiming his site at those who love to shop, since the experience is unique and distinguishable from retail or big brand clothing stores. Anyone who has problems shopping online should consult with an online computer support service before using Twice.
Ready-Campbell’s website has many advantages over the physical experience of actually going to a secondhand store either to buy or to sell. Many physical thrift shops only take donations, but Twice actually buys all the items of clothing it has on the site. People can sell their old clothing rather than donate them, allowing both Twice and the user to benefit from the process. Ready-Campbell’s site also categorizes and labels every item on the site with the correct brand. This process makes it easier for users to find clothing they are actually interested in when shopping. Rather than sifting through stacks of unlabeled items, shoppers can zero in on the brands they want when using Twice.
Ready-Campbell’s company currently makes a mobile app for iOS. Anyone who runs into issues while trying to download the application should seek iPad tech support to get things working properly.
In many ways, this cool person’s road to his current position reads like the essential Silicon Valley entrepreneurial story. Ready-Campbell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in economics and computer science in 2010. He also managed to obtain a master’s degree in computer science from his undergraduate alma mater. After graduating, Ready-Campbell worked at Google as an associate project manager for the AdWords product. He left Google to start his own project, which became Twice, after less than a year working for the company. Over the past three years, Ready-Campbell has slowly built Twice and now offers a unique experience in the e-commerce space with Twice.
