Niklas Ostberg Wants to Make Food Delivery over the Web Global with Delivery Hero
Food delivery over the Internet is not a new phenomenon. People have been placing online orders at some restaurants from as early as the 1990’s. However, ordering food has never been a uniform experience and differences between online ordering systems can confuse or upset customers. It’s more than likely that people have called phone computer support for help when trying to figure out a food delivery website that they do not have experience with in any way. Cool person in technology Niklas Ostberg wants to help fix this problem with his website Delivery Hero.
With Delivery Hero, Ostberg wants to create a unified ordering experience not only for a single country, but also across the world. Ostberg has recruited restaurants from every continent to be part of his site. He wants to build an international system for ordering online that will allow even smaller restaurants to compete more easily with bigger chains. Ostberg’s website allows restaurants who don’t have a lot of extra money or technology resources to join Delivery Hero and create an online ordering presence. This presence alone often increases business for these restaurants. With an easy and uniform ordering experience such as the one Delivery Hero aspires to, it becomes an even more level playing field between smaller businesses and delivery giants such as big international pizza and fast food chains.
For right now, none of the sites in Delivery Hero’s network has a mobile app associated with them. This means there is no easy way to use Delivery Hero on Android or iOS devices. If people want to try using Delivery Hero over the web on a mobile device, they might need Android support or Apple tech support to assist them.
Ostberg started his career in the banking and consulting fields before ever becoming a part of the tech entrepreneurial world. He also worked at AktiePlus, which was a research firm that analyzed and quantified the startup market in Sweden. Eventually, in 2010, Ostberg started Delivery Hero, taking the helm as the CEO of a company for the first time in his career. He has ambitious plans for his international website, but it will take time to find out whether or not those ambitions bear fruit.
