Hullabalu Stimulates your Child’s Creativity
One thing technology has given us, particularly devices like tablets, is a new and more effective way to keep children entertained. It allows parents to do more than simply sit children down to stare at a TV screen, providing for more educational, thoughtful, and interactive entertainment. Many apps offer such a service, but one called Hullabalu offers a new take on children’s storytelling. Rather than providing digital books containing interactive segments, something very common in mobile apps for children, the app itself is the story, which progresses as children engage with the magical world it introduces. It introduces your child to a purple panda bear called Pan, a strong female character who has adventures alongside a cast of other characters. It is not strictly educational in nature, as many children’s apps are, meaning it is not curriculum-based. That said, it does teach logical thinking in the sense that actions have consequences, and it offers some text at the bottom of the screens. The purpose of the app is less about learning to read and more about sparking a child’s creativity and imagination.
Hullabalu’s stores are captivating and engaging, and it features offers high-quality design and animation not often seen, with a few exceptions, without licensing from bigger companies. Currently, it features mobile tech support strictly for iOS-enabled tablets. With Hullabalu, children ideally aged between three and seven years old learn by both doing and creating. Just like comics and storybooks, it has characters and like television shows it has episodes (called chapters), including lines for kids to remember. For the ultimate in interactivity, it uniquely allows children to shake the device they are using and scroll to find new plots and graphics. There is also a feature called “Pandagram” that lets them take photos of or even with their favorite character(s) to share on the device or through safely monitored access to friends and family. They can also save images they create in a device’s photo gallery through the “camera booth” feature.
Hullabalu’s service is more limited among apps, so parents will want to address system recovery needs quickly in order to continue allowing their kids to enjoy it. On the website or through the app itself, children and parents can learn about the magical world it is set in, and there are even full character biographies and profiles. Children set their own pace, deciding for themselves how the plot moves, making them feel more integrally involved in the game. They can choose whether to use narration, text, or both, with interactive aspects tailored to them based on age and reading level. The app’s content is completely original, including all of its characters, illustrations, music, and activities. When you want to provide something for your children that is not only education but stimulates their creativity, Hullabalu is one app you should not overlook.
