Daily Secret COO Phaedra Chrousos Connects People with Cities’ Best-Kept Secrets
Everyone knows the popular tourist attractions and most famous restaurants in a city. People got to New York to visit Times Square, Central Park, and the Empire State Building. In London, people visit Parliament and eat at popular pubs. The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the restaurants and shops on the Champs-Elysse are the biggest draws in Paris. However, these big cities have more than the obvious to offer not only tourists, but residents as well. Gems like amazing bars, small cultural festivals, outdoor markets and specialty shops can give people excellent experiences, but they don’t get the publicity that draws big crowds. Phaedra Chrousos is a cool person in technology that wants to help people get it on the secret of these smaller, but immensely enjoyable attractions with her company Daily Secret.
Chrousos’s startup has agents placed internationally in numerous major population centers who find the most interesting things to do off the beaten path. Discoveries made by Daily Secret can be restaurants, bars, clubs, events, film festivals, attractions, theaters, shops or anything worth a daily adventure. Chrousos and her team take each city’s ”secrets” and send them to their customers through the company’s exclusive email lists. Consumers receive emails from Daily Secret once a day, as the name of the company suggests, and they get recommendations for activities in whatever specific city they have subscribed to by email. Daily Secret currently only provides recommendations for attraction or entertainment purposes. Everyday utilities and services such as PC tech support are not part of Chrousos’s recommendation service.
It is likely that Chrousos chose email as the medium for Daily Secret’s services, because part of the appeal of the attractions it recommends is their exclusivity. If the company posted a city’s secrets publicly on social media, they would become crowded and lose the appeal that comes with being low profile. Interested consumers can sign up for Daily Secret’s email service on their website. Those who have trouble doing so can get a home computer support specialist to help them with the issue.
Before founding Daily Secret and becoming its COO, Chrousos worked at the Boston Consulting Group and the World Bank Group. She also founded and built a startup called HealthLeap before becoming involved with Daily Secret. She successfully exited HealthLeap by selling the company to healthcare organization Vitals. With her business and entrepreneurial experiences, Chrousos has the expertise to build and expand Daily Secret as both a business and a service.
