Create Narrated Slideshows with Narrable
Education is about more than lectures, cold facts, and standardized testing. Ideally, a good education will form critical thinking skills, giving children something to draw from and develop for the rest of their lives rather than mere information to pass a test and forget. Narrable is an education app designed with this in mind. It helps students crate a brief audio slideshow with narration and/or music as well as visual effects starting with uploaded photos.
Once the user has uploaded a number of pictures, he or she can record a narration for each individual one through a computer’s microphone or, alternatively, by calling into the access phone number received as part of a Narrable account. You can not only compile a project then, but also upload an audio recording and store it on your computer for later use. Users can share Narrable projects via email, Facebook, or by embedding them into a blog, and it features broad tech support for access on a PC, laptop, or any mobile device connected to the Internet. The service encourages users to take advantage of the social media aspect by making it easy to share across multiple social networks at once.
Narrable is extremely useful for anyone, educators in particular, who do not have reliable access to standard video editing software, serving as a beneficial resource for any number of subjects in almost any grade level. An account includes secure student logins, with encryption for the purposes of maintaining Internet security, as well as administrator tools for account managements, collaboration tools, and phone support. Helpfully, while Narrable offers a wide range of pricing to the public, teachers can create an unlimited number of projects for free. Others can get up to five projects free but, interestingly, can earn more by sharing the ones they have made on social media.
Narrable can integrate with a wide range of software, apps, and online programs or services to allow for the creation of many different kinds of projects. For instance, a user could use photo-editing software to add text bubbles and text to images for a comic-like effect and sound editing to do something similar with the audio included. Users could also use something like Flickr’s “Creative Commons” section to search for a topic and receive high-resolution images relevant to that topic to include. Users can also work on two or more separate slideshows and later combine them while including narration for the new combined project with just a little editing needed. For many different fun but especially educational purposes, Narrable provides a unique way to voice what you really want to say.
