Baggage Recovery Goes Mobile with Passenger Baggage Express (PBX)
Even with the technological progress we have made, the problem of misplaced or even permanently lost luggage is one that still plagues thousands of flyers every year. Passenger Baggage Express is a product that exists to curtail this dilemma by applying technology to facilitate communication between airlines and passengers in order to increase the efficiency of the baggage handling operations while enhancing passengers’ travel experiences. The app’s designers were able to pinpoint an obvious and widespread service deficiency, and they created PBX to keep airlines and passengers permanently connected. The application serves to provide the convenience of knowing the whereabouts of your luggage while offering its partners a time saving method to get “troubled” luggage back on track.
PBX works by creating a tag for each piece of baggage you wish to claim. Thanks to PBX’s tech support features, you can register anytime and anywhere as long as you have an Internet connection, though you do not need to be online to use it. A full profile is not necessary, though the app’s creators claim that a user can create one in under a minute. It is more convenient to do so to ensure that airlines have all the necessary information to return your luggage in an expedited fashion. Each piece of luggage gets its own unique tag I.D., but the app registers all tags to you. Losing a tag is no problem; if you do, you can simply pick up a new one at the airport and add it to your profile. For additional peace of mind, PBX guarantees safety by ensuring that once you have scanned and registered a tag, no one can scan it again.
PBX uses a supplemental tag and mobile tech support platform that combine to open a direct line of communication for the recovery of missing items. Designed to accelerate the recovery process, the app provides airlines the ability to send you timely notifications, text messages, or emails to enable the quick return of your belongings. Tags provide each individual item its own unique identification number for airports or airline carriers. The app’s developers have plans for the future to cover 90% of all public airports, allowing their product to have luggage pickup capabilities that permit passengers to schedule baggage pickup through mobile devices.
Since the search for lost luggage can be so time-consuming and sometimes lend no results, PBX serves to eliminate the research process entirely. By doing so, they make certain that their partners can focus on the important task of getting your luggage back to you as quickly as possible.
