iSnap CEO Bob Whitson Wants to Turn Customers into Marketing Opportunities

Using existing customers to create more business has always been a key aspect of marketing.  However, the introduction of social media to the equation has created even more potential for more business with each customer.  Previously, customers would refer others to a business purely through word-of-mouth, which has a somewhat limited reach.  With social networks allowing people to broadcast their actions and thoughts to large audiences, each existing customer can now promote a business to hundreds or even thousands of people instantly.  The difficulty in this process from the business side of the aisle is finding ways to encourage customers to promote their products and services online.  Cool person in technology Bob Whitson has founded a company called iSnap to give brick-and-mortar stores a new way to encourage customers to spread the word on social media.

Whitson provides storefronts with an iSnap booth, a web-connected kiosk that lets customers take pictures of themselves and broadcast them on social media to take part in exclusive promotions customized to a client’s business.  After customers engage with the iSnap booth, the product encourages them to share their photograph on social media for a promotional benefit.  By engaging customers with the iSnap kiosks and encouraging them through exclusive promotions, Whitson’s company can get more customers to promote them through social networking.  Excellent IT support will be necessary for retail locations that use any iSnap kiosks to make sure they are always working properly.

Whitson’s system is especially useful for any businesses in the entertainment industry.  When people spend time at a show, club, bar, theme park or anywhere similar, it is far more likely they will want to share their experience via the Internet.  This desire to share combined with the extra incentive of a special promotion can lead to great exposure for many businesses. In case any customers have trouble with the kiosks, it is likely best for companies to place onsite tech support professionals who can help confused visitors.

Whitson has a well-documented history in electronics and technology.  This cool person was CEO of Sierra Logic, a semiconductors company, for several years, proving that he has what it takes to be a leader in the technology business.  He also previously worked for HP for over a decade, showing that Whitson knows how to commit to a company and its goals for long periods.  Having a veteran of the technology world like Whitson at the helm can only mean positive things for iSnap’s future.
